I’m vegan for two years now and vegetarian for many years. Although my whole family is made of meat lovers, we respect and care about each other’s food. And when together, of course we share food. When it comes to eating habits, the thing can get really emotional. So we can always find a way to start, to think differently that we are used to, until we start to see changes.

I believe we should start from here then. Respect, share and care. Well, all that is just a very particular point of view from someone who loves to cook…

A short guide on how to make people feel heard.

“Active Listening is considered a way of listening and responding to another person. There are three components of it. It includes empathy, congruence and unconditional, positive regard.” - Don Rheem, author of Thrive By Design: The Neuroscience That Drives High-Performance Cultures

1. Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood

“Empathy is not the end, it’s the means” — Tim Brown, CEO of IDEO

Just the thought of comprehending and sharing the feelings of another, sounds kind. Imagine the ability to do it. To have an underlying inclination to help. Amazing, isn't it?

You may think you were born this way, but…

Dear, how are you?
I'm pretty good at looking
At all these windows and screens
Seems like everything in quarantine
Is about rectangles and frames
We are inside a box
A damn box full of boxes

I got used to see queridos
Into frames and in a way
People have become a blend of words
Many times written, sometimes spoken

Funny how
I have to touch play to hear someone
Amazing and absurd
I never had to touch you for you to speak
Now I feel like if I want to hear you
I have to touch the play button
I rather touch you, darling…

Today I read a quote from a great friend, that said: “If I had known how painful it would be to look at my favorite songs in spaces that are not mine I would not have added any noise with those who deserved my silence”.

These words caught me in an unexpected way. When I realized, I was already writing.

It made me think about shared information, about personal tastes and privacy. Makes me think about friendship and support. Also about this human social network that we are by carrying a phone in hand or in the pocket. Always available…
