Boxes

1 min readNov 27, 2020

Dear, how are you?
I'm pretty good at looking
At all these windows and screens
Seems like everything in quarantine
Is about rectangles and frames
We are inside a box
A damn box full of boxes

I got used to see queridos
Into frames and in a way
People have become a blend of words
Many times written, sometimes spoken

Funny how
I have to touch play to hear someone
Amazing and absurd
I never had to touch you for you to speak
Now I feel like if I want to hear you
I have to touch the play button
I rather touch you, darling

Oh I miss the foolish conversations
When I listen someone talking with their eyes
And the whole body speaks and breathes
Querido, this play button sucks
It’s impossible to hug a button
Even more when it’s inside a box

Can I call you tomorrow to hear your voice?
Oh dear! Video call?
You're too good to be seen inside this box
Inside this screen with buttons that record your voice that I prefer to listen in person while your body responds to the language of my own body that misses yours

Oh sweet!
Eu sinto falta do silêncio compartilhado
